|

When TL2 is used for control or monitoring applications, it must be powered continuously from the cell phone.
This requires the phone to be always connected to the charger, and the charger to mains.
According to cell phone manufacturers, this must be avoided not to overcharge or overheat the battery.
What is your experience, being that TL2 makes sense only when always on?
Should I substitute the standard charger by a smart one?
Thanks and regards. |

There is a problem only with phones that simply stop charging, i.e. you have to unplug/plug charger so that phone does charging again. This is issue of siemens phones (RIP siemens). You just have to try your phone.
In AA application we have workaround for this - one port is used to set a ~10 sec puls few times a day to disconenct relay->charger. We want to have this in P3 too. |

My phone is Nokia 1100/1600 and I donŽt know if it needs to be unplugged/plugged once in a while like Siemens, but IŽll try and see.
I just thought if I left it always charing it could ruin the battery in a very short time.
About the workaround you mention on AA, I saw in another post:
"P9 OUT_CHARGER - to disconnect charger (about once a day), needed for some phones" on TM2. Thanks. |

It won't be that dramatic.
