When I first installed my SIM card with TurboSIM it didn´t fit well and I had to re-cut the plastic. After working fine for a couple of days I got the message "no SIM card installed" and/or "no service".
After trying to re-seat the TurboSIM a few times with no luck or getting it to work for just a couple of minutes I took some time to find the problem. An I did: while putting in the SIM tray and taking it out a few times the black paint protecting the circuit of the TurboSIM got scratched. You could see the copper shining through. These small defects in the coating led to contacts with the enclosure of the iPhone. After putting some clear tape over the back of the upper third of the TurboSIM everything returned to normal.
