|
|
Hi,
I need to confirm whether a SIM toolkit application can:
a) be downloaded to any > 32KiB standards compliant SIM card via OTA?
b) silently receive Cell Broadcast (CB) messages?
c) silently receive SMSs? If so, what restrictions apply.
d) silently send SMSs to a MSISDN and SMSC of my chosing?
By silently, I mean: 'without pausing to prompt the user for permission to continue'. i.e. sending and receiving happen in the background.
I have read much about the PID and alpha attributes but and confused.
If it is indeed possible to develop a SAT application with these characteristics, would the TurboSIM solution be suitable to demonstrate this on a mass-market GSM phone?
Thanks |

I doubt so, question what you mean by "standards compliant". It can be compliant but not fully implementing.

Yes, these have to be STK CB messages though.

Yes, those with PID 0x7f.

Yes.

PID is just one byte SMS, if it has value 0x7f (=DATA DOWNLOAD) then is silently delivered to SIM without being stored anywhere. ALPHA is the message you see on screen - "Sending Message". If NULL then it should be not visible to user. Confirmation is not needed at all.
