|

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the Adapted,Programmer to monitor(to spy) the communication (APDUs exchange between the ME and the SIM).
My boss forwarded me an email that he recived from info@bladox.com
here is a part from this email :

I followed the 4 stpes you described, but I got an error :
- when using only the Adapter, the ME detect the SIM corectely and I can see the STK Turbo application. And I see that L1 Turbo Adapter kernel is installed (menu "About" says : << Turbo Debug-L1 Version: 1.1.0 SN: xxxx >>
- I was able to start the "dbg" utility (the cable is connecting the PC and the "Programmer")
and it says :
Quote: |
Initializing device
Device initialized
Entering Application Mode
|
until here it seems to be OK
BUT ..
when I try to connect this 2 parts, The "Adapter" and the "Programmer", I got SIM error. Even when I restart the ME, it says "SIM error" :
it seems like the connection Adapter-Programmer is making a trouble , but it's necessary to get the Trace/monitoring of ME-SIM communication.
Is there a solution to this ? a jumper to manipulate or some tuning on the "Turbo" application ?
How were you able to get the Trace sample you sent in the email ?
Great thanx in advance
Kind regard

I hope I understand that you get SIM error when trying to plug the adapter into the long cardedge connector on programmer. Is it so?
Some things to try:
1. insert it before ME is powered
2. insert it from right corner first - the pins are quite close and you can short cut the pins quite easily - then you get SIM error
It is possible to inserte/remove the adapter from programmer while it is on but it needs little experience. |

That's right : I get SIM error pluging the Adapter into the cardedge connector on programmer.
I'm going to retry and give you a feed back
Hope it will work
ps : just a question, may be quite dummy but just to be sure : The SIM I want to monitor should be inserted in the "Adapter" ? (cause on the Programmer there is also a place to put a SIM card)
Thanks for your Help and Keep up the good work |

Yes, SIM belongs into the Adapter SIM lock.
Thanks. |

1. insert sim into turbo adapter
2. insert turbo adapter into mobile phone
3. connect programmer to pc (plug usb)
4. insert adapter into programmer, start with right corner first
5. dbg
6. turn on phone
Steps 1-3 can be in other order.
Be careful with pulling the flexible cable and adapter from connector while manipulating with phone.
99% it's mechanical, short cut while inserting adapter into programmer or so. 1% mystery. |

Idea on 1% mystery. Are you sure you communicate with the progammer via usb, i.e. is your pc<->prog connection alright? Drivers?
Do you see any led's turning off/on?
What about if you insert any sim card into programmer sim lock and try "sim_dump -r"? What you get as output?
What does the "prog_apps" say?
I can imagine that if something were wrong with eiter communication or turboadapter.trb module in programmer then some incoret values could be on the long connector and lead to something wrong.
Please try the above and post results. |
