Does anyone know how SIM Locking works? Is it possible to do a fake "SIM unlock" so that a SIM of a different network with a Turbo SIM can work on a SIM-locked phone? For example, can I make an Orange SIM pretend to be a O2 SIM for a phone that is O2-locked? (or maybe circumvent every lock altogether?) |

Unfortunately not. SIM lock means locking phone to particular operator, id of operator is part of IMSI (EF_IMSI) stored on SIM. So if you faked this IMSI then you cannot connect to network. All is in phone, SIM cannot do much. |

Hmm. Well, there is a problem for SIM locking, even if not for connections. Maybe someone wants to access an application on a used phone that is sim locked. There are phones that lock the OS if the SIM is not correct. |

Then yes, it would be possible to fake a SIM from arbitrary operator but it would when connecting to network. |
