I used another phone to load applesaft to do the settings. After that, I was able to switch and use the iPhone with my local Sim and the turbosim.

My question is this.

On my current local telco account, I was able to make calls out, SMS in and out and Edge connections. I cannot receive calls. I went to buy a prepaid card from another telco, and now I am able to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS. Edge services is still under activation because it's a new prepaid account but I assume at this point, it would also not be in doubt.

Do you or anyone have an idea why I cannot receive calls on one of the telcos, when everything else just works? I read somewhere that the iPhone have a problem with what they call the NOM. I checked and my first telco where I cannot receive calls runs on NOM 2, whereas the one where incoming calls works runs on NOM 0. Could this be the reason, or are there any settings that needs to be modified on Applesaft?

Hopefully, someone can make a clarification or hazard a guess.

Thanks.

I have been looking at some details inside the AppleSaft that was loaded to the TurboSIM. It shows the IMSI and the ICCID serial numbers. From my limited understanding, AppleSaft was supposed to set both the IMSI and ICCID of my AT&T card. Now, I don't know how to access the number for IMSI for my AT&T card, but the ICCID number shown on AppleSaft starts with 98 06 ......., whereas the ICCID number for my AT&T starts with 89 01 20 ........Further more, the IMSI as set on AppleSaft begins with 08 59 .....

From what I can gather about IMSI at WIKI, as shown below;

"The first 3 digits are the Mobile Country Code, and is followed by the Mobile Network Code (MNC), either 2 digits (European standard) or 3 digits (North American standard). The remaining digits are the mobile subscriber identification number (MSIN) within the network's customer base."

the IMSI as shown inside AppleSaft would be

(890) country code and either (12) or (120) as the country code. Since the AT&T origin is the United States, shouldn't the IMSI begin with (310)?

I post this to seek some clarification from experts at Bladox. The TurboSIM works well to serve the purpose for me to use my iPhone with local telco SIMs.

Hopefully, someone will be able to provide me with better understanding.

Thanks.

Applesaft/ISA show exact content of EF_ICCID and EF_IMSI files on the SIM card. What you mean is already interpretation, swapped nibbles, some bytes possibly missing. See 11.11 doc for exact info on what is on the card. Available freely from www.etsi.org
